Hello World!

Well, here’s the long and the short of it. I’m an author. My first book was just sent to me in draft form, and I’m going to be releasing it soon. But of course, these days you can’t just be a writer. You have to be able to get editors and cover artists and even try to figure out your own website. And that’s what I’m working on here. 

It’s been years since I’ve done anything website related, not since my attempts at learning ruby-on-rails which I’m sure is no doubt gone already. Which is fine, I didn’t keep up with my tech knowledge. Instead I’m focusing on creativity.

One of my inspirations for writing was Laurell K. Hamilton. Now I don’t mean her books, necessarily, though I did enjoy those - rather the blog that she kept up with for quite a few years. She would just pour out her thoughts and her writing methods and whatever else. I found that absolutely fascinating! I loved hearing how much she was able to write per day, and the struggles that she went through. 

She no longer does it, at least not that I’m seeing. I am not her, but I hope that my writing will inspire someone else to do so as well. I’m just a normal person, but I made the leap. I want you to too. If you want to write, please, do it. It’s worth it. The feeling when you have that copy sitting in front of you? That is absolutely insane. I want everyone to experience it in their lifetime, if that’s something that interests you.

So I’ll try to keep this blog going so that it keeps my own creative juices flowing, and I hope that one day, if I write enough, it will inspire you to do so as well.
